We hope this finds you well.

We hope you enjoy reading this newsletter which highlights some of the ways in which your funds and other donations are being put to good use.
Feedback from Pastor Derrick
It is halfway through another year and, yet again, we are so grateful to God for His continual provision for Lungisani Indlela. The impact of the recent floods in KZN has been devastating for the community of Amaoti, but through the generosity and support of numerous individuals, churches, businesses and NPOs, we have been able to support not only the families on our programs but also many others.
We could not have done this without our amazing partners, sponsors and friends. Thank you so much!
And my God will meet all your needs
according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
Home Rebuilds
We are currently raising funds to assist some of our families whose homes were damaged in the floods. If you would like to make a donation towards this, it would be most appreciated!
Feeding Families
Apart from the twice-weekly feeding in Amaoti, since the flooding we have set up two satellite soup kitchens in the community. Here volunteers cook donated food daily for those in need, including those who are staying at one of the local community halls.
Thank you so much to SA Harvest, Angel Network, We Are Durban, The Robinhood Foundation, Feedy Needy, Domino Foundation, Sunshine Bakery, K&K Foundation, Hands for Hearts and Food for Life for the ongoing support which helps us distribute much-needed food into the community.
Learner Support Program
The Learner Support Program is one of our main projects, where youth workers and our volunteer social worker look after the wellbeing of 180 learners, with many more on the waiting list. A large number of these learners are orphans living with family members in dire home situations.
Our support program helps ensure these children are taken care of in terms of home visits, uniforms, shoes, counselling and general assistance. We are able to do this through the generous support of monthly sponsors who sponsor a learner for R200 per month. We currently have 30 unsponsored learners in the program.
If you would like to sign up to help us help these children, please contact the office.
Thank you to our corporate sponsors:
Extra Lessons
A major concern for the children, besides poverty, is the terrible level of education.
A large number of our children really battle with basic reading and maths, but with the help of some wonderful volunteers and our youth workers, we run extra lessons each afternoon from Monday to Thursday.
Safe House
The children in our Uthando Safe House are thriving under the love and care of our amazing safe house mom, and we are extremely grateful to the two churches which support this home. One recent highlight is Sanele, who matriculated with excellent marks at the end of 2021 and is currently studying Environmental Science at University of Zululand. We are also incredibly proud of Lusanda, currently in matric, who recently learnt to sew and is becoming quite an entrepreneur!
Thank you again for your continued support. Please feel free to share this newsletter with anyone you think would be interested, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or would like to offer support through time, resources or funds.
